Want to get a MK7 GTI as a daily hauler. Is the PP worth it given I will never track the car and will probably just keep it stock and drive it into the ground.

Probably not worth it if you are going to keep it stock, and use it on the street as a daily driver. But if you are going to modify it and add more power, then yes the diff is worth it.
I just recently sold a 2015 GTI Performance and it was a great car.
