Genuine pump and thermostats are $1,150 + labour takes it up to $1,650 ish.

There are also a couple more Facebook ads from apparently different sellers in Sydney region, but not clear which EA888 engine series these will fit.
Some thoughts on this.
Today I replaced the inlet manifold on 2017 Polo GTI (1800 EA888.3) with both port and direct injection. Incidentally it is exactly the same motor as MK7 Golf GTI with only 2 differences being an IS12 instead of IS20 turbo and a different crankshaft giving 1800cc instead of 2000cc (rounded).
The inlets in the head had quite a bit of carbon build up at only 49000km ..... Since it was open already, I cleaned it but was amazed at what it looked like. Alas, did not stop to take any photos though.
