Someone who has previously had discussions with George should probably kick start the GB thread...or I can if no one else is willing. I've never talked to the guy though.
You horse power hungry vermin's. If I had bought the CS I'd be on that list. Might be worth getting other threads included.

I'm definitely interested in a group buy.
How easy are these things to install and would it be detected during a service and or wiped?
I spoke to the owner of AutoInstruct and he's happy to do a Groupbuy for us. I'm sure we can include non 40 years owners too but just to be safe, I'll check with him first.
Group Buy List:
Urxtream - MK7 Golf GTI 40 Years

I spoke with George yesterday and he said that BMS don't arrange group buys themselves and that it's only up to their dealers to hold one so I guess we'd have to contact an actual dealer/importer.
Still as the Group Buy List goes:
Urxtream - MK7 Golf GTI 40 Years
ringo - GTI Clubsport![]()
Count me in, I've had it now for 2 months un-modified. AND I want the USB cable so I can "mess with it's brain"
Group Buy List now goes:
Urxtream - MK7 Golf GTI 40 Years
ringo - GTI Clubsport
Brian - MK7 Golf GTI 40 Years - JB1 + cable
Current drive:2016 Golf GTI 40 Years in Pure White
Option 1: Burger Motorsports JB1
Ok, so Luke from AutoInstruct has replied with pricing. This is the link to their most up to date JB1 for our GTI 40 Years / Clubsport.

Only interested in the JB1 personally. I don't see anything in the Peregrine module that is not offered in the JB1 (selectable and adjustable maps via the cable) and the BMS reputation in terms of R&D testing, reliability and after-sales support is excellent. For the prices offered, there's no contest really.
Another thing is that according to George, every rev2 JB1 will be upgradeable to the JB4 when that will be released (obviously at some extra cost) that works with absolute boost pressures (instead of differential) and I believe has some extra goodies like map selection through the steering wheel's stalkers etc. (although no idea if they will be offered on the Golf, they are on JB4 for BMW applications).
PS. Obviously + Cable for me
Thanks for the insight Ringo. Let's just focus on the JB1 for our Group Buy then shall we?

I am about to put money down on one of these or a MK7 R. Very few options so they are about the same price.
Why the GT40 over the R?
