Hey mate, welcome to the club (sport). Having googled those rims, I hope to see them on the white car! After looking at the Rubys everyday now for 2 months I like them a bit more than when I first got the car, but am still looking for an alternative. Those Advans look schmick. Have fun with your new toy!

I must be one of the few who actually likes the look of the Ruby (Brescia) wheels, although I would prefer them to be lighter and my first choice would be the grey Pretoria that I've seen on some Clubsports. I definitely prefer them over the Cadiz wheels though.
I also don't see the problem with the naming that we get in Australia, as it is the 40th anniversary and the previous editions have all been named after the year that they're celebrating.
The only thing that I think everyone would agree on, is that it sucks that we don't get the bucket seats here. Dynaudio would also be another nice to have and the full length screen.
Picked up mine yesterday, great so far, although have only managed two runs to work on the Monash so far. White DSG with roof. Just need to get her booked in for front window tints and paint protection, and find someone to help getting traffic enabled and a few other VCDS tweaks!
Mounted the Advan wheels on the car this morning, can't really feel any difference to the ride quality prolly bcoz they're 19's. They're an inch wider than stock (7.5" vs 8.5") with 235/35R19 rubber on so hopefully that won't change the driving dynamics of the car too much.

Thought I'd finally post in here.
I wrote off my MK4 GTI about two months ago so was forced to find a car that was a bit comparable and in a hurry.
Was hunting for a manual and Scirocco R in particular as I never have more than one person in my car ever.
Couldn't access one to test drive, but saw the 40ED in DSG and sunroof. I liked how it drive and options and snapped it up. Carbon Steel. Too noticeable in white and red. No manuals available..
I'm moving closer to driving full paddles the more I drive it. There is something about the ratios that I just don't like, as well as the fact I have no control rolling and holding certain gears and rev points unless I go full paddle.
Torque wise it lacks what I had (400nm) in the old whip, but I will sort that out with an Oettinger tune and updated clutch.
Have read up about the OBD11 and VCDS so if anyone is in Sydney that can book a brother up with the voice and traffic options that would be great.
Will be heading for a decent drive soon. Don't want to write this one off in a hurry...

Congrats on the new purchase. I, too, had a Mk4 GTI in Red with a Stage 5 MTM tune which I sold many many years ago.
I'd like to get the traffic and voice option activated too. I had a search on eBay for a VCDS, they go for about $650 shipped...not prepared to pay that sorta money for a cable. If someone here can hook me up with a VCDS I would really appreciate that.
+1 on the color, CSG is the fastest one isn't it?So loving the undercover look of mine (but only from a distance...!)
Re torque, I'm not saying it shouldn't have more power but the way it pulls at 120km/h in 4th gear is amazing, and that's without touching the overboost yet (only 400 km in). Oh and since it's a DSG you don't need an uprated clutch that's only an issue with the manuals. I also drive either fully manual (paddles) or D for city traffic.
Has anyone had any problems with the wipers dragging in drizzle? I have mine on sensor mode and they seem to come on appropriately, but if there's only a little bit of water on the windscreen they drag terribly. If it's pouring they're smoother but not amazing.
