    Had the Sonax nanoguard ceramic protection on mine, always get impressed by how good it looks whenever it's washed and the shine comes back.

    Has anyone else noticed that when you give it all the herbs in 3rd gear and above (when overboost is supposed to kick in) that the kw performance gauge only gets to 195kw. Thought they would have designed it to show the full 213kw so you can see you're getting full power.

    Yep. Noticed that after I put the JB1 on. 195 must be full scale, LOL, nowhere near enough.

    I just saw a white 40 years on the road (well parked at Chester Hill) during lunch break. Bought at Five Dock. Anybody from here?

    Stands out from a mile. Personally couldn't deal with a white one. Just too confronting.

    Has anyone tuned their GTI 40 years yet? Do you get much wheel spin and is it a really noticeable difference?

    A BMW 335i tried to race me in my GTI40 (with JB1) today and guess what happened?


    We stopped next to each other at the next set of lights and we both wound down our windows.


    BMW: Is your car stock?
    Me: Nope, it's tuned. I've got X HP and X Torque
    BMW: No wonder!!


    He must have thought that I was in a standard GTI / a stock car. The moral of the story? Don't mess with little GTIs especially the 40th Anniversary Edition 😎

    Should have answered yes, lol. But seriously the 335i is no speed freak really. It's on par with a stock Clubsport in in-gear accelerations: 60-160km/h in ~9s, 100-200km/h in ~14s, these are the times I was logging before putting the JB1 on. With the JB1 the CS will now do 60-160 in 7.5s and 100-200km/h in 11.5" which is almost RS3 quick so it must have been quite easy to leave him behind. Problem is he can also put a JB1 on his BMW . In fact the CS's 100-200 time could be in the mid 10s if it wasn't for the stupid overboost feature that cuts outs after ten seconds of WOT (maybe possible to completely bypass it with JB4 but need to speak to George about it).

    Yeah I should've told him my car was stock lol. I'm still on the fence whether or not to upgrade the JB1 to JB4. Let us know after you speak to George

    As I understand it it needs tampering with some wire and because my intention with this car is to leave it 100% stock (or so I still say), without a single screw (or wire) modified I have abandoned the idea of upgrading for the time being. This is regardless of whether it actually bypasses the overboost or not for which I'll speak with George anyway.
