So is it common knowledge that the ED40 GTI doesn't need/can't take torque arm "dog bone" inserts? Went to transfer mine to a fellow forum members ED40 this afternoon and notice that the ED40 already has a rubber insert. It appears glued to the stock insert (as in it's one part) but still doesn't fill the gap as much as an aftermarket part does.

I installed an 034 Motorsport insert in mine, was a version 2 though. Works really well and no issues on install!

Cruiser, your car looks great! I'm loving my red one too

I've started thinking about a JB1... Is it worth getting for the 40 Years? Would I notice any difference in terms of every day driving?

Yeah howy loving the Red, was thinking about the JB1 but think I'll spend the cash on some Michelin PSS first as I think they'll greatly enhance traction, then once I'm really craving more power have a look at the various available options.

I need to get one of those 034 Motorsports mounts. I'm 3500km in driving this thing and I have started to feel the slop come through

Also, when driving in Sport mode it gets a bit twitchy, especially in the rear when I'm hitting a large roundabout or swinging curve. Not so fun when driving with the paddles. I assume the tyres also have a little bit to say about that also.

Actually, there's one thing with that really grates me with the DSG. I just can't throw down two gears at once. And on auto mode it likes to select a higher gear too early. And that's killing my life in traffic. I start frantically hitting the paddle to override it, especially when I'm coasting to a stop, due to my habit of engine braking.

Does anyone else keep flicking through modes during a trip ? I wish I could change modes quickly through the steering wheel.

You are not alone.. I do keep flicking the modes all the time.. lol..

About switching it through the steering wheel, i don't know why we can't have it..
I'm pretty sure we can switch it on via VCDS ??
As my mate RS3 can switch his mode through his steering wheel too..

Are you referring to driving in normal or sport mode? Not sure if DSG settings are much different on the ED40 to the R but dropping it from normal to sport via the gear shift (quick push down) normally drops it two gears in the R
