    GTI 7.5 Dynamic Tail lights

    Hi Guys,

    I just bought a GTI 7.5.

I was disappointed that they dont have the dynamic tail lights. I found that a few on this forum have managed to fit this in the golf 7 R

Will the dynamic headlights fit a 7.5 Gti?

If yes, where in australia can i get them? Im in Melbourne btw.

    Thanks

Yep, VW Central. I emailed late last year and they were still working on the coding for the 7.5. They are estimating $2-3k for parts and labour if required.
Might be cheaper if/when cheap Chinese parts hit the market with a DIY harness and OBDEleven coding.

$2k - $3k for something you never see on your car while driving? NO THANKS!

Yeah, it's quite high. At the moment few cars have such smooth lights, so you'd stand out in traffic. (Have you seen the excuse for dynamic indicators Toyota has?!)

LEDs flashing or scrolling makes no difference to how you stand out though.

    What's the excuse?

Really? Emergency vehicles must love you.

I always spot the Audi's from a distance with the dynamic turns signals. When we were in the states the Mustang signals always caught our eyes. I reckon that can be defined as standing out in a sea of cars on a Freeway.

What? What does emergency vehicles have to do with anything?

There is no difference to the visibility of an indicator that flashes or one that scrolls. They're still orange and they still flash and most Victorians seem to think having them on means they have right of way or don't know how to use them to start with.

    And what's the Toyota reference?

    I'm confused.

The r comes standard with dynamic indicators in 7.5 guise
You can option them for other hatchs from the dealer for about $1200
Sadly no wagon dynamic indicators tho

I asked my dealer about optioning. They said they are only fitted to R and Performance and I should speak to an VW aftermarket specialist like VW central or DAP who have done the MKVIIs

EDIT: I actually called VW and they said it’s now an option for the GTI MK7.5.
My dealer advised they'll soon be able to order an upgrade kit.
