I was thinking of getting this one for my Wolf wagon.

Re: boot liners, I've got the VW foam one or whatever it is - I asked for rubber, but it was thrown in so can't complain.
The R seems to have the same depth boot as the others - false floor close to the boot lip, so there's a relatively flat load area when the back seats are down - and then a heap of room under the false floor.
Has anyone tried moving the false floor down lower? It'd require removing the plastic bits propping it up - and explains why the boot is 605L to the top of the back seat.

I would be interested in how to drop the false floor on the hatch as it should allow the parcel shelf storage feature to be used.

I did an RTFM and had a go not long after I got the car and it makes a pretty decent difference. The instructions in the manual are pretty clear. The short version is there are some locking pins that secure the side pieces of plastic (tailgate end) the central plastic that goes between the wheel arches unclips and then it's pretty much done. Would be great for a big trip and getting extra space.
I'm going to have a baby seat in the back most of the time, so will rarely need to fold the seats & have a flat load area - so dropping the floor seems like a good idea - I'll try it tomorrow.
Also, can't think of anything to store under the false floor, except maybe the load cover or luggage net thing - but I figure they add a tiny bit of structural rigidity
Oh, also installed an LED festoon light in the boot roof yesterday - brighter than stock, a bit short but the contacts bent enough to make it fit okay. Order a slightly longer one than I did!

We actually have a few things under the boot floor at the moment. Large golf umbrella, shopping bags, picnic blanket, the emergency box for my daughter (change of clothes, spare nappies, wipes, etc). That space swallows it up so easily and then there's no crap flying round the boot. Not sure if you saw my post on vwgolf.net (
Wolfsburg owners - anyone picked theirs up? - Page 120)
but I've swapped all the incandescent globes out for LEDs from deautokey and couldn't be happier. I did the full assembly swap out for the boot area and frankly it's what VW should have always had, you can see the full boot now in the dark.

Dropped the floor - boot is massive now! But it's a bit shorter at full depth, so my genuine VW boot mat doesn't fit
Tinting's been done, turns out the stock privacy glass has no UV filter, so need to get the rear glass done with a clear film (or darker). Looks great, and Rob (@ Hunters Hill Window Tinting) also does the front A-pillar window to match.
Also picked up my new N-RW46N euro plates - rather than drilling holes in the middle of the rear plate, I used the kingpin backing plate & cover - standard Altrex cover on the front with the stock plate holder.
This means I've got a full spare set (Altrex front & kingpin rear), in case anyone needs a set.

I am ordering this boot liner now. It has flaps to tuck under floor to stop it sliding away when decelerating. Also, I think it could bend better at the front if I lower the floor.

I dropped my boot floor too and wow what a massive difference. There is still enough room in the space save wheel well to fit my first aid kit, compressor, picnic rug, jumper leads etc but now the boot space can fully swallow 3 large suit cases and still be able to use the covering blind!
