Jon, the flex joint and heat shroud was just visible, but would be very hard to wrap without removing the DP. The mechanic and I took turns under the car when it was up on the hoist with the other revving the car/putting into gear briefly and idling it. It wasn't clear that the flex joint/heat shroud is the source of the rattle, at least from under the car. It was really hard to pinpoint where it was coming from which was frustrating. I'm going to see if I can put up with it for awhile longer before deciding whether to bite the bullet with JB1 and DP (just wish there was someone who could install the JP1 in Melbourne).
