Probably 12 or 18 months ago now we were fortunate enough to discover that the actuators were available when we needed one for the 6C GTi. It's lasted this long following replacement without further issue, but the specialist we used (local VW guru) did note there was some play in the wastegate shaft - was unable to say how long it might last. So that is certainly a consideration some might want to give if it comes between choosing to do 'just' the actuator or the complete turbo. You might be lucky like us, or you might not.
    Cheers

Yeah was under a dealer warranty and they didnt care about it being tuned at all. They wanted to replace the turbo so no complaints from me . However after getting it installed seems that the issue is still there . Gonna try and get some more data logs and work with Galano to see whats going on.

For anyone interested, got a new datalog from OBD11 showing the loss of torque on the second pull.

Hopefully going to schedule some time with my mechanic and Galano to work through what the issue could be. I am so glad I didn't pay for the new turbo out of pocket lol

i’ve seen similar problems with faulty MAF sensors. might be worth looking into that? Not sure if it applies to your specific model though, just throwing ideas out there.

Yeah, as Lucas and I mentioned earlier, this is unlikely to be a wastegate issue. At least you didn't pay for the turbo!

No MAFs on the EA888 - MAP sensor only.
