Im hoping it steals the show at Paris. I see a faster turn around this time to the gti then ever before due to the new platform.

Looks like Golf GTI and Golf R are not too far behind the std Golf re: release date:

New VW Golf R to get 276bhp | Autocar

Sounds like Golf R may be more torque rich than outright power, with added gear ratios to keep in that torque band for added useability & improved fuel consumption.

I hope the self-destructing 118Tsi + DSG combo will be tossed out. I really need a Golf but have no confidence in getting the current ones.

Twin charger is supposedly being replaced by a hybrid version with similar power. I think all the DSG Golf's will be 7spd now (obv not the same DQ250 box we have in the 118TSI), not sure if they'll be wet or dry clutch either.

Looks more like a decent photoshop if I'm honest (of course what else would we expect this early on)
