I don't think the Mk7 Golf would look too much like this. Maybe the basic profile and dimensions but the design and styling will be quite different. The Mk2 Leon looked nothing like the Mk5&6 Golf and with the MQB platform there's even more room for change.
It's like saying the Seat Ibiza, and to a lesser degree, the Fabia are the same as the Polo, because they're all sister cars based on the same platform. The best hints this Leon will provide is the interior, mostly switch gear, the headunit and the tacho screen. Drivetrains too

Once had a Red mk6 GTI + DSG + leather + sunroof + mdi + towbar
now have a gorgeous Red Merc A250 AMG Sport
There's some nice touches there. The DSG leaver looks quite good with the translucent gloss plastic. Tacho looks pretty cool and is a full colour screen like in the Tiguan and the newer Passats. Not sure if the steering wheel will be the same in the Golf, I don't really like those scroll wheels for the volume and menu functions, very mazda 3 :|. The AC controls look much cleaner than the mess that is the climatronic unit in the Golf and the buttons for traction and hazards look very much like slim versions of the Polo's.
The headunit is a bit of a step back but it could be the basic unit replacing the RCD310 of old (SEATs tend to have basic headunits), which may mean every Golf gets a colour touch screen. Hopefully the RNS510 style unit is much better but it does look like it won't fit in our older cars.

I dont mind the look of the Leon.. im sure the new golf will have a more refined look again, maybe lose a touch of the sharp edged racer look and more of just the good ol' hot hatch they are so damn good at doing.
Latest info on mk7, sounds excellent
