Hi Rooboy. Yes, sunroof is very nice. I was a bit dubious about the amount of heat that would get through the blind, but very good so far. I'll have to wait for a 45 degree day to really test it. I had a 2009 C class Benz with a blind under the sun roof years ago, and that got very hot inside, even on only a warm day.
I notice that a few US owners have complained about water leaks in their Mexico-sourced Alltracks. I haven't heard of any problems yet with the German ones.

I have had a leak with my German sunroof unfortunately was off road for 2 weeks

Apparently one of the rear hoses was kinked from the factory i ended up with a 1/2 full spare wheel well of water which shorted out the subwoofer all repaired under warranty had to drive a crappy rav 4 hire car for 2 weeks ugggg what a unappetizing car

Keeping a close eye on it now

Tho i was approached by a lady in the coles carpark on the weekend asking me if i had a issue with the sunroof leaking!
Apparently her's was in for the 4th time and was getting a whole new sunroof as it kept leaking

Fingers crossed it was just the hose and nothing more with mine

I've enjoyed it since I've had it and passengers love the view out of it at night. As you can probably guess, I keep the blind open and I can't say I noticed the heat anymore in it than in my old Yeti but you can certainly feel the sun when the roof is open. I've not experienced leak issues which maybe due to it mostly being garaged during the week, but it did spend 2 weeks buried under a metre or so of snow with no ill effects.

That wasn't a good experience with yours Kachingg - hopefully no more issues.

10mm bigger diameter means slightly taller gearing but the biggest reason will be the increase in weight. Heavy wheels accelerate slowly. Flywheel effect.

I found there is a whining noise at low speed around 1-30km/h, and when it is at 40km above or complete stop the noise stop, went in to a near by vw dealership and the tech thinks is the haldex pump, they booked me in for a check next week, finger crossed...

Hi guys, noticed that the Alltrack has the foamy rear number plate backing as well - if you left your standard plates on as opposed to wasting $400 to get bigger Euro plates, how did you go about getting rid of the excess backing ? Does it just peel off ?

    Thanks Alltrack guys.
