Thanks Rooboy looks like I will get one as that is a pretty impressive list of additions. Figure in the long run it will be worth it.
Where would you recommend I buy it?
Thanks mate.
There should be someone around that is willing to help but if you do pick one up it's not too hard to get a handle on and it's handy for checking fault codes before you get a service. I've enabled the following on mine
Golf R dials
Display colour change
Bouncing balls (centre display depiction)
Refuelling amount in display
High Beam Assist
Road Sign Recognition
Traffic alerts (TMC)
Comfort (one touch) turn signals changed to 5 flashes
Automatic daylight savings time update
Easy entry drivers seat - moves in/out with pressing start/opening door
Seat heating memory

Can recommend the change to golf R dash looks way better than the alltrack dash
Welcome! I got mine from Autoinstruct but it looks like they're not getting new stock until early May.

Checked them out thanks. Do I need the port extender?
will definitely add the R dash to the changes.
Hey Benz. The port extender is not required - the dongle slots under the dash near your right leg and easy to plug in/take out from your normal driving position once you know where the port is.

Hi all,
Just wondering, if we were to change the feature parameters via OBDeleven (or VCDS), in what cases will this void the vehicle's warranty?
I'd imagine something like disabling the brakes through code is a no brainer, but if we were to switch on features that's available in other parts of the world (e.g. Traffic Sign Recognition), or in other models (Light Assist on the Golf GTI/R), in which you could argue for the user's convenience, or increase safety on the road, would this usually void VW warranty?
I'm thinking of upgrading to a Golf Alltrack at the end of the year, and realised there are quite a bit of features that's currently switched off for the vehicle. (Dynamic Light Assist, TSR, etc..)
I've been following kachinggg very closely since he got his Alltrack (including all of the mods he's done on the first 2 days of purchase.. nicely done!), and that made me to consider this car.
I was thinking of the Passat, but there's something about the Golf.. It's slightly more exciting to drive. Probably due to the power to weight ratio.
I was a bit surprised that Light Assist doesn't come as part of any of the options.. I was under the impression it would've been, which made me look into Rooboy's recommendation, and have helped kachinggg to enable a whole bunch of stuff on his vehicle.
I'll need to source out a cheap Android device as I'm using a Mac/iOS, which conveniently puts me out of performing coding changes to the vehicle via VDCS and OBDeleven respectively. I reckon a cheap Android tablet is sufficient just to gain access to the UI to perform changes?
I see the most complicated change would be the Traffic Sign Recognition - requires a few steps to ensure it's working correctly.
Appreciate any responses in advance..
