Hey people! Just a quick question for those with vw roof rack. Can you fully open the sunroof with the genuine vw racks? I bought rhino racks that overhang the rails as I need to carry 2 hobie kayaks on top. So i can tilt the sunroof, but not open fully. Is this different with the vw racks? I bought premium petrol in white with luxury sports pack and driver assistance with active info display.

Short answer is yes. If the racks are placed in the recommended spot it will open fully. Partially open, the front glass is slightly above rail height but no problem as the rack is forward of that portion with plenty of clearance. When fully open the glass is level with the rail height and again there is plenty of clearance between rail and bar height.

Cool, thanks. Are your racks the wider type that extend past the rails, ie 1180 wide, or are they shorter racks flush with the mountings. I might have jumped in too early without researching this enough ��

The standard VW rack from the dealer just joins to the rail mounts as per the image.

Thanks mate. Ideally I would like those rail mounts with a bar that extends further. I will contact my dealer and see what’s possible.

got my new r brakes fitted today

Looks way better imo!
Pedal feel is different computer still learning new piston sizes will take about 500k to reprogram itself also have ate ceramic pads fitted front and back which give a softer feel to pedal not as much straight up bite as semi-metalics but feel nice and progressive (i can see why some do not like the feel of ceramic brakes no big grab on the discs when pedal 1st applied)

No noise or vibration brakes feel smooth and noise free so far

Yeah rooboy they do look great i am very happy with the result (wish they offered something like this as a option but vw yeah...)

No drilled for the back unfortunately Zimmerman don't make em for our model the backs are vented tho and 310mm rather than the 280ish of stock so fills the empty space better

Hi, I have just ordered a Golf Alltrack TSI Premium Iridium Grey with everything, currently in Hamburg expected to arrive 18/12 - I also have a mobile that can charge wireless and notice in Europe Wireless Charging is an option with Golfs - does anyone know if it possible to get that option in Australia? My dealer hasn't a clue.

Just noticed an earlier post on this subject - apparently not
