Golf Alltrack 2.0TDI MY18 towbar instal piccies

Hi Guys. I'm thinking about buying a Golf Alltrack TDI MY18.

I'm wondering what the current towbar options are. I know the bumper has the "invisible" cutout in place from from the factory, but I'm wondering if any Aus towbar options can use it these days? Are Westfalia still available? Euro-Towbars options?

I'd appreciate seeing any images you all may have of the factory bar install, any other installations, and hearing any comments you may have on the choice of factory or other coding box options?

Has anyone had any issues with using adaptive cruise along with towing?

Basically......can anyone offer any towing advice? I have searched the forums, and gleaned bits here any there, but I couldn't find many images that showed me what I wanted to see.

Thanks for any help you can give me here.

    Frogster.

Vw aust use bestbars as manufacturer for the genuine, rated at 2000 kg for the 135tdi.
Technically for this bar, there is meant to be an extended cut out to the valance, but you can just squeeze the bumper on.
pricing is upwards of 1000 bucks inc coding, expect average price of 1200. The labour time is for 2 persons taking off and putting back on the bumper, and taking out and re installing the rear interior trim to install the control unit and run the wiring harness through the chasis. As well as obviously installing the bar etc. Takes a while to do it

ive installed enough towbars and harneses on amaroks, golf wagons, and passats. Usually ive had vw code the vehicle at 1 hour of labour
if you dont have access to erwin, i would not reccomend diy. I had my golf alltrack towbar installed pre delivery, but i took the bumper and interior trim off the other month to adjust the 13 pin round connector and plug in a permanent positive.

i would only ever suggest genuine electronics and coding. Active safety systems dont function correctly when the car isnt coded correctly or the car doesnt know a trailer is attached, such as when using non genuine wiring set ups.

i would also only suggest a towbar that complies to the adr

no issues with cruise control, or addaptive, works well. Lane guidance works well too. The tdi s chug along with a load with no issues

    Thanks for the comments guys.

I haven't worked out what my tow solution will be (maybe in the end an Amarok v6) but I have just got home with my new car.

MY18 TDI Alltrack in Indium Grey with all the options. 93km on the clock, and a healthy discount from list.

    Happy.
