MK7 Golf - gap between windscreen and plastic (5-6 mm) - outside, drivers side, bottom about 25 cm long... as per below:

only drivers side .... noticed few more MK7 Golfs with similar gap (I am sure it is not by design) can you, please check your car ... not sure can it result in water leaking

MIRSAD: Just checked my Golf mkVII and the plastic bit (behind the wipers) fits snuggly against the glass all the way from the driver to the passenger side of the car.

Mine is an my13 TSI, not a MY14 GTI like yours. That notwithstanding, I would definitely complain loudly (and with purpose) to your dealer. The dealer might try to run a bead of silicon along the gap, but I would ask to have it fixed properly.

You might even try discussing the problem with the inappropriately named Customer-Care folk at VW Australia. My past experience has been that such exercises are better described as "the delicious futility of an impossible task"! But, if you have the time and the internal fortitude for doing battle with a large industrial conglomerate -like VW, give it a go!

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.

MY14 GTI, appears to be a uniform fit all the way along.

MIRSAD, I have the same issue as you, but what I did was I pushed the plastic against the glass. Not sure how long it's gonna last.

Should be flush, been like this since golf 5. It just clips in.

If you clip it in and it pops out its probably deformed from being unclipped so long. Id suggest a replacement trim
