Front bumper mod - 7.5 Wolf R Wagon

Has anyone removed the black plastic licence plate mount on a 7.5?

Ruins the white lines and with a slim line plate would look tonnes better

I'm hoping the black mount pops off somehow

    See red highlight in pic

    Cheers

You can take it off (push the small diameter centre piece of the clips all the way in), but you will then be left with 6 holes in your bumper.

There are plenty of threads and information on how to fill the holes. Google for BumperPlugs if you want to buy them Pre-painted or search for AutoInstruct if you want to buy them unpainted and paint then yourself.

I bought bumper plugs for my 7R.

My solution for that was to get the Euro style plates. Covers the black plastic perfectly.

Yeah, I thought about Euro plates but they are considerably more expensive than BumperPlugs. I just used a wrap of electrical tape and a dot of Superglue and they fitted fine. They’ve been in for nearly 2 years without an issue.

The unpainted AutoInstruct plugs are the right size but I didn’t trust my skills to get a good finish.

NSW Euro plates are $500 to restyle. I considered it, but IMHO the smaller plates look so much better and the NSW colour choices didn't really go with Indium Grey. I have the Premium silver on black and they look great with a Kingpin protector to hide the silver border.
