This is a common fault on Golf R would suggest taking it to VW and getting it replaced under warranty. If they say the warranty, your reply is under the Australian Consumer Law your warranty period is a reasonable period of time. You will be contacting QLD fair trading office. If they say no contact the QLD fair trading office.

I had mine changed under warranty at 30000km the replacement one is leaking at 15000kms. will request they change it at next service.
