I have done this on 7R, don't need controllers or any wiring changes, just coding. Here are the part numbers.

Left Mirror 5G2 857 507 CA 9B9
Right Mirror 5G2 857 508 AJ 9B9
Switch 5G0 959 565 AA ICX

Unsure if GTI and lower require controllers, these are probably the correct ones. Unsure if wiring changes are required however i don't think they would be needed.

Dear VW mates, do any of you know whether we could purchase folding mirrors with blind spot indicators! I believe this system uses the four exterior different looking sensors for this functionality

Hey MRG_AU,

If you pop your mirror off I would say you have four wires plugged in to the glass. The modules codes listed for the folding mirrors only have two wires to the glass (for the heating element). I would say unless you can sweet talk the parts guy at the dealer to look up the folding mirror part number suited for DAP2 you will not be able to upgrade to folding mirrors using these part number and retain blindspot warning. Anyone without DAP2 happy days jump on the group buy!
