Peekay34 is that because you coded them to fold on locking/unlocking?

Well my mirrors and switch arrived this week and today I installed them with great success, they fold, the puddle lights work and I can choose to fold them when locking from the MFD.

These should have been on there from the get go! now my car is really a Highline

PS. this thread should be changed to "Fitting Folding Mirrors to a Golf Mk7"

    Fold via FOB movie

Congratulations, GolfVII. I am very keen on this install and once my Highline comes this would be the first hardware mod I am planning on doing.

Guys the only parts you need is listed in this thread, plus a ROSS-TECH cable and some patients

    my dealer ordered the parts:
    Left Mirror 5G2 857 507 CA 9B9
    Right Mirror 5G2 857 508 AJ 9B9
    Switch 5G0 959 565 AA ICX

All up it was around $800

and i followed the instructions here:
    http://www.uspmotorsports.com/downlo...structions.pdf

    and here:
VWVortex.com - USP Folding Mirrors VAG-COM - Fold automatically upon locking - Instructions

Its also handy to have a set of trim removal tools, so you don't break any clips. I also used string instead of the grabby tool shown as I not to keen to get metal things near the paint work.

Sparked my interest in doing this mod - few questions for those that have done it:
    1. Do you have to order the mirrors in a colour to match your car, or do you use existing housing?
    2. As previously asked, I presume the dip in reverse function still works?
    3. Do the mirrors come with heating in them? (where I live the early morning dew is a real problem)

    Thanks!

    3. heat function is built in to the mirror and you use existing mirrors.
