    Exhaust options for the 90TSI

Hey guys, so I've been looking into exhaust options for my 90TSI, and I haven't found much around. I was thinking just replacing the rear muffler at this point with an aftermarket one. I've looked into Supersprint (way too expensive), Jetex (nothing for Mk7) and Remus (too expensive). Looking to find something under 700 AUD preferably.

On that note, would a rear muffler or catback exhaust designed for the MK6 1.4TSI OR MK 7 GTI fit onto the MK7? Reason why I'm asking is that Jetex has a product line for the MK6 but they have nothing out for any MK7 model.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Just go yo any reputable exhaust shop. You should have no problem getting a custom cat back for that price

For a start, you could try getting the resonator removed? I called up a few exhaust shops for my 90tsi and they quoted between $60-$120

Yeah, I've already done that! It's good but sounds a little raspy, which I hope would be corrected with an aftermarket rear muffler. I think the best bet would be to wait until more options come out, but I"ll start contacting some exhaust shops and see if they can do custom exhausts.

Before I got the GTI I had my local exhaust shop put a generic "sports muffler" with tips on my 103TSI. It popped when shifting above 4000rpm like the GTI does and it sounded absolutely fantastic - even my mates thought it had more than a muffler.

The cost? $150. The cheapest thing I put on my car was ironically the best. Lol.

Oh sweet! If it isn't too much trouble, would you be able to get an audio clip of how it sounds? I'd love to hear it!

Good to hear! Was there any drone when driving at low-mid RPM? I'm seriously considering going this route for my 90TSI Comfortline (or perhaps shell out $1000 for a Remus kit).

If any TSI guys are feeling adventurous with their exhausts, this rear valance would be a good set up to start with:
