The absolute slightest bit of drone around 3k but that was it. It wasn't annoying. It was much louder than the GTI is - I actually miss it sometimes. The "fart" on up shift was the best part.
If it's a sporty noise you want, I wouldn't waste money on a full system. Go the muffler like I did.
You'll need to look overseas for the parts so unfortunately it won't be a cheap exercise, but you'd end up with one very unique Mk7 locally and plenty of admiring glances from this forum.. including a lot of R owners who'd wished VW had stuck with this trademark look.
There's a few parts places selling in the USA, eg. 2015 Volkswagen Golf Rear Valance - Center twin Exit Exhaust - Primer #5G0-071-610-B-GRU and I dare say a few Euro places would be too for price/freight comparisons. As they are OEM parts they should all slot in ok but always worth checking.
Please do it.

I did this to my Mk7 90tsi a few days ago.
Looks tops! I've got a limestone 90tsi as well. How much did it all cost you?
Cheers Kesh,
$275 for the valance from VW spare parts in Castle Hill, $280 for the muffler with twin exits and tips including fitting from Castle Hill Exhausts. Sounds a bit deeper too. The muffler is a generic 14" Redback. The guys even gave it a coat of high temp exhaust matt black paint up to the tips, all connections are welded.

Does anyone know a good exhaust shop in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne? Thinking of going ahead with the resonator delete.
