Dual Oval Exhaust tips to replace Quad tips (not centre but factory location)

Does anybody know or have seen a way to replace the quad oval exhaust tips with two? I don't mean in the centre but in the factory location?

I really like the look of the RS3 or TTRS dual oval tips. Could one purchase the tips only say from Milltek and fabricate to the stock exhaust once the stock tips are removed? Anyone seen or done this?

Looking to do this on my 2016 Golf R

If anyone has ideas or seen this please chime in.

    Cheers,
    Dan

If you have a close look at the exhaust above you can see something similar to Quad piping in the RS3. That is because like the Golf R the 2 outside outlets are only active when the valve is open for sports/dynamic mode.
So the good news is the R is the same. The bad news is I don't know of any products that exist to convert it. You would have to look into custom exhaust tips as far as I know.
That would involve cutting off the ends and welding in something similar to a Y pipe to a large RS3 like tip. The benefit of doing it that way is the change stays cosmetic and no mechanical changes would be required so you can keep the Sport Valve for when you want to hoon and the quiet mode for when the wife is in the car.
It is unlikely to noticeably change the sound, but I reckon it would look awesome especially if they are the nice big oval stainless steel tips the RS3 has. As a benefit the carbon build up on the pipes would be even too haha

This is a Milltek system, but the piping is very similar to what I was talking bout earlier

Thanks for the responses RMBB. I did look at Milltek and I sent them an email about compatibility between the RS/R exhaust. The hangers and everything look to be in the same location.

Also asked them about purchasing just the black oval tips and then doing a fabrication to mount them. We'll see what they say.

thinking about doing the same to mine, instead of the quads, having just 2 oval tips. will be doing a custom cut/weld job and maybe get some burnt titanium tips.

unsure when, but sometime in the year.

From past experience, your local exhaust shop will have a myriad of exhaust tips that they can fit to your car. They all can do it, you will just need to find one that is willing as it is fiddle work and not worth much money to them. I reckon you would get it all down and dusted for under $150. They will cut off original tips back and weld in a simple Y section to bring the two pipes out of muffler into one and then attach what ever tip you choose

The R wagon owners don't even need a closing Y adaptor as there's only one pipe out of the final muffler.
