    Hi All,

Could someone tell me if DAP can be fitted to a car that has already been delivered. I have a MY15 Golf Wagon 90 TSI Comforline

Anyone know if the DAP II has been upgraded on the MY16 Golf and what models it will be available in?

@MRG_AU, I stand corrected. Saw the symbol you described today in the MY15 Golf (it picked up a car turning left slowly). I think the symbol changed with DAP2 as it's definitely different in the MY13 with DAP1

We had an uncomfortable driving situation this weekend at an intersection. Driving on northbourne avenue at 60 set speed. There were 2 cars in front. We noticed when the immediate car in front almost stopped our car slowed and when that car took slip lane our car started accelerating full force to get back to 60 and the distance to first car dramatically reduced to may be 4 meters, but our car is still accelerating. We had to brake, it took few seconds to realise the car in front is not moving. These systems are very good n handy but we should always be alert n take control especially in situations like this. Lesson learnt. I am sure you all are good drivers. I am only stressing DAP limitations.

The city emergency brake function presumably knows the stopping distance and only comes on late to avoid a accident. It is not responsible for slowing down early to keep a safe distance. I have been playing with ours just to understand what it can do - coming off the motorway off ramp on adaptive cruise got to red light and alarm beep before I started braking but never felt we were going to hit the car in front that had stopped.

My situation was bit tricky to ACC may be I don't know, the slow moving car in the middle cleared the path ACC started accelerating but then suddenly there is a car in front stopped . Daily normal situation a car changing lane coming in front or car stopped in front had no issue. I got the car in March. My wife drives it with all dap2 systems on. No problem at all so far. May be it would have stopped with half a meter gap if we did not brake.

ACC does a pretty good job from what I have seen. After a standing start, press resume and it will accelerate and still let me do manual gear changes (manual trans). It does a pretty good job of noticing cars changing lanes in front, braking to maintain 2 sec gap, and accelerating if I change lanes around a slower car.

I guess we need a big rubber bumper out front to test your scenario.

If you didn't get to the red light and alarm beep stage, then the car mustn't have thought it was in danger!

Does the MY16 model still have the radar box sitting in the front grille? Hard to find pics to compare with and without.
