I ordered my new GTI in January and the dealer mentioned that AU don't get lane assist, however a couple of weeks later I was told that there would be a minor delay in delivery because of the new driver assistance package. When I asked what it included I was told this:

In terms of the new driver’s assistance package, below are what is included:
    · Adaptive Cruise Control
    · Front Assist
    · Side Assist
    · Lane Assist
    · Driver Fatigue Detection System
    · Blind Spot Monitor :
    - Detection of cars and motorcycles in the blindspot
    - LED indicator is displayed in the door mirror
    · Rear Traffic Alert
    - Warns the driver of approaching traffic at the rear of the car
    - Display is shown in the Optical Parking System (OPS)
I'm doubtful that lane assist will be included for AU, but I won't know until late April/Early May either way.

    Hi
I was car shopping with a friend this weekend and asked. The new driver assistance package II for Golf includes adaptive cruise control,
blind spot monitor with rear traffic alert, front assist with city EB, Park Assist (not for R!) and proactive occupant protection system.
NO lane assist. The sales guy showed us the bulletin but couldn't give us a copy.

Has anyone managed to get the driver fatigue system to sound a warning with DAP installed?

I have tried to deliberately change my driving style, jerking the steering, sudden braking and acceleration etc, no go.

I had the driver fatigue warning sound a week or two ago towards the end of a 3 hour drive. Not sure what set it off but I was getting a little tired. ACC was active at the time too.

Oh that's good to know. I had read on some forum that DAP removes driver fatigue detection. Obviously that's incorrect

    Thanks for letting me know!

I would have thought someone falling asleep does not make sudden movements. Obviously it knew you were wide awake

Haha clearly the computer is smarter than me.

But I made the assumption that someone who is dozing off would tend to drift out of their lane and make last minute adjustments to correct their course

Thanks for the photo of your new DAP2 Golf, MRG_AU.

Can you also upload a photo of the blind spot indicator in the exterior mirrors, please? Mine's due for delivery in the next 10 days, and I want to be able to tell at a glance that it has the newer DAP.

Also, are there any additional sensors at the rear for the Rear Cross Traffic Alert (the old DAP had 4 parking sensors in the rear bumper plus one on each wheel arch)?
