    Differences Mk7 2014 and 2016

Looking at getting a mk7 R as my next car. Ideally was looking at 2016 however a 2014 has popped up with 53000kms and quite a good price.

Was wondering the major differences between mk7R 2014 and mk7R 2016?

Please note the 2014 one I’m looking at has driver assistance, Vienna Leather and sunroof package and the owner has replaced thermostat, water pump and haldex from VW (if this is common problems in 2014 and not 2016). Thanks guys

Been in the same boat, the biggest difference is the standard equipment in the my16, adaptive dampers and carplay with a slightly bigger screen and full leather interior.

Water pump goes in most of them, mine was leaking after 45,000k's, replaced under warranty.. Currently sitting on 70,000 at the moment and its been an awesome car, no issues.

For the entertainment system the MY 2016 came out with the MIB2 Discover media, this gave you Android Auto/Apply Carplay as standard.

Would you guys say it is well worth the extra 5k or so to get a 2016 over a 2014?

Depends on what you are looking for and how tight the budget is. I'd go the MY16 for only ~5k difference, carplay and android auto is pretty damn handy. Also trying to upgrade a MIB1 to MIB2 system is fairly difficult and will easily set you back a few grand.

Thanks for your help man, really appreciate it! I’ll have a look around and see which option I decide to go with
