    "Device not supported' Android Auto?

So i have been happily using Android Auto for a couple of months and out of the blue today my Golf tells me "Device not supported" everytime i plug in. Tried a different cable. Not updates or changes to the phone.

It was literally working last night and today it doesn't. Any body seen this one before?

This is not a throwaway line - turn it off and back on again. Full restart. Have seen it on iPhone - not often or frequent, but it has happened.
    Cheers

I know this sounds simple but try reversing the plug into your phone.

I had an issue with my note 8 working fine with USB C either side when we first got the car but for some reason will only work when connected with the other side.

Failing that, if you swipe your notifications down when it's connected click "connected as USB" on your phone and try selecting it as a media device. If you don't have that option you can unlock developer options in settings and manually select the connection type

I had similar wobbles a few daze ago. Right after applying latest Android OS and security updates to OnePlus 5.
Its a great phone, that sits nicely in the D-Dock.
After a reboot, Android Auto all working again.
