So i have been happily using Android Auto for a couple of months and out of the blue today my Golf tells me "Device not supported" everytime i plug in. Tried a different cable. Not updates or changes to the phone.
It was literally working last night and today it doesn't. Any body seen this one before?

Yeah already tried thati have just done a complete factory reset on my phone.. going to give it a try in a couple of hours.. pretty disappointing..

I had an issue with my note 8 working fine with USB C either side when we first got the car but for some reason will only work when connected with the other side.
Failing that, if you swipe your notifications down when it's connected click "connected as USB" on your phone and try selecting it as a media device. If you don't have that option you can unlock developer options in settings and manually select the connection type

i think he may mean resetting the head unit by pressing and holding the on/off button for 10 seconds,Yeah already tried that

got it working again.. factory reset my phone did it.. (can't reverse the connection cause it is USB type b not type C
Seems excessive that you need to rebuild your phone though as long as it works i am happy! thanks for your help guys!
