I very much doubt whether many of the uninitiated would know (or care), regardless of what R badges you do or do not have.

The side and rear R badges are just a standard stick on on badges, so use a little bit of heat and fishing line to get it off, and goo gone or similar citrus cleaner to remove any remaining adhesive.

The front R badge is a bit more involved, as it is bolted to the grille. IIRC you need to remove the grille to get access.

It’s hard to hide the completely different bumpers front and back, quad exhausts as mentioned, headlights/drls also very different to cooking models, not to mention the 19” wheels! Badges are the least of your issues if trying to stealth it a bit.
The R is more low-key in a subtle euro way compared to the more shouty Japanese style hot hatch (Civic Type R/WRX/STi or older JDM style offerings you see running about.
The next buyer of your car may want them on so don’t chuck them.

99% of the other (non VW Golf) drivers on the road would not know what a Golf R is .... some will only discover that a R is actually not just a standard Golf only when they take 1 on ....

An to be fair, at least 50% of other Golf drivers would also not know what a R is, so trying to go stealth really does not achieve much IMO. And to be clear I love stealth

Thanks all for your responses! I have decided the car is understated enough, particularly in Indium Grey so I’m leaving it as is.
