    Creaking when turning

    Hey Guys,

I just picked up a 2015 MK7 GTI performance and have noticed that when I first start driving out of a parking spot that there is a fairly loud creaking noise that happens when I turn the steering wheel. I believe it happens when I am parking as well. A friend said it might be something to do with the steering collum.
Does anyone have any ideas what it might be? and should I take it to VW to get it fixed as the car is still under warranty? I haven't seen many good things about VW fixing issues.

    Cheers, Josh.

Could be either strut top mounts, which are relatively inexpensive, or a steering rack which most definitely isn't. Regardless, if under warranty get it back to the dealer to be fixed. Both were very common faults on earlier model GTIs, (albeit not as frequent on mk7s) so it should be a quick and easy diagnosis for the dealer.
