    Compliance plate

    Hi all,

Anyone able to advise where the compliance plate is stamped/fitted?
I'm trying to locate it on my MK7 GTI but can't find it, checked everywhere under the bonnet, doors and boot.
    Am I missing it?

Just curious when my current car was actually stamped.

    Thanks

I have checked the boot, even took out the spare wheel. There is no plate in there.
I don't think I have one which is weird.

No plates, just decals these days.

Built tag located on B pillar
Compliance tag (plastic sticker), boot floor. There should also be a service tag (which shows Engine, Gearbox codes, vehicle specs etc..) on the boot floor also, it's a paper sticker.
VIN should also be stamped on the skirt. and behind the windscreen.

Sadly I've seen a lot of instances at work where a smash repairer will throw away these decals/stickers when changing panels or repairing an area of the vehicle that has these stickers attached.

Boot floor under the carpet?? I took the spare wheel out and there is nothing there. The carpet feels stuck on as well.

How'd you get the spare out without lifting the carpet? Isn't it all 1 piece????

its stuck to the metal boot floor on the left hand side.

The spare just sits on top of the carpet and there is a big nut and bolt type device that secures the spare. You just unscrew it and the wheel comes out.

Eh...? Doesn't sound right. Normally you'd lift up 1 piece carpet to reveal the boot floor and pull the spare out of the wheel well. But your spare sits on top of the carpet... got pic?

Can't get a pic right now, but it's pretty much like this:

Mmm... Ok maybe it is just the pillar decals then. Should be a black sticker on the drivers door pillar and a white sticker in the passenger door jamb
