    Car locked indicator

    Hi,

Is there supposed to be a red flashing light in this to show the car is locked?

I've thought it odd that it wasn't there when there was one on my Mk5 and my Mk6. The housing is there but there's no light in it.

This is an R, if this makes a difference.

My 103 TSI highline has one, hard to imagine why the R wouldn't...

Yeah, especially when the cutout is there. The R doors are only different for the trims and the chrome highlights on the switchgear.

Maybe the LED has fallen in.

Yep. Just been outside in the dark and could see it flashing though a gap in the trim up against the A pillar. Therefore it's definitely there!

I also found out that the alarm is nice and loud!

I'll call the dealer and get it checked out (seeing as the car has only done 1800km).

I haven't had it sorted yet. This plus a bubble in one of the tints, the MIB2 software update and investigating the auto-hold release point on the handbrake now mean I've probably got enough stuff for the dealer to get on top of!

I would bring it back. Had a Tiguan manual as a loan car and having the same problem with hill hold. I stopped after a few go and wait for the car infront to leave.
