Car full of water - Sun Roof Leaked

Opened the boot on my Alltrack yesterday to find everything in the back was saturated. Roof lining all stained and water running down the RHS Cargo window. Anyone else had this problem? I have probably used the sunroof 6 times in the last two years so I doubt its wear and tear on the seals. Pain in the arse as I would never option a car with a sun roof it just happened to come with one with the sports pack. Car is parked facing uphill on a sloping drive.

Flooded cars are usually written off by insurance companies. If you want to get rid of it try your luck.

Leaking sunroofs seem to be a problem with some VWs, unfortunately. Often turns out to be a problem with the drains. If you are covered by warranty take it to your dealer.

I'd be very surprised if it is not a blocked drain, seems to be the most common reason for any sunroof to leak.

    Cheers

Cars been left at the dealer to sort. It is still under warranty, told it would take around 8 days which is fine as long as its sorted. I didn't know they even had drains.....you learn something new every day.

    I had the same issue
I park like you do nose up so all water goes down rear drains
I apparently had a kinked hose on the passengers side leading to a spare wheel well full of water and a shorted out subwoofer
All fixed under warranty took 2 weeks
I will be taking the car to a sunroof specialist every 12 months to get the drains cleaned am now paranoid about leaks as i bought the car intending to keep my car for 10+ years

I always thought that the drains were part of the service schedule to be checked and cleared as necessary.

Son's Alltrack now flooded comprehensively twice. First time off road for about three months, this time VW have already had it a month.
