They aren’t a rare car...find a better one.
Hi All. I've put an offer in on a Mk7 Golf GTI that is an ex lease vehicle and have found out the service history isn't the best.
I see it went into a dealership each year and had minor things done but due to the high kms it was doing annually, it wasn't until 37,000 kms that it received the first oil + filter. Next was 68,000 kms, and it didn't get a DSG service either.
Currently at 82,000 kms.
The price is decent but would that service history warrant walking away?
Thanks

It might be OK, and more so if the usage was all highway cruising, but personally I'd be looking elsewhere for a car with a better service record. If they were willing to ignore the service intervals (max 15,000km for oil changes in Oz) then it is possible they were an unsympathetic driver. VW will almost certainly deny any powertrain warranty coverage.

Find another one. There are hundreds of GTI’s for sale.
That must have been hideous having to see the service warning for all those KMs. What is wrong with people? I agree, get one that has been look after.
Ok thanks all. Looks like I'll pass.
