    Hi Guys

Sorry if this has already been answered somewhere but am wanting to know if anyone has had problems with traction with this unit stock standard map1?
I have a brand spanking new skoda superb 2016 162kw version 6spd DSG (same engine and setup as as octavia RS). Any other issues?
Also how much extra power and torque from the standard map1. Can't seem to find it. cheers

Coming from someone with a modded RS, you're likely to have traction issues in the wet even on a stock file - naturally, this will get worse as you add more power. Traction will ultimately come down to how you apply that power/feather the throttle. Adding things like coilovers/springs, torque arm insert, stiffer bushes etc will help minimise wheelspin/hop but at the end of the day it's a front wheel drive vehicle.

Had the 206TSI AWD Superb been available in Jan 15, I would have jumped all over it - proper sleeper in my opinion!

There are 3 plugs that need to be connected. If you have a Golf R you need to access the third from underneath the car. If you have a GTI (not sure about the clubsport) you can apparently reach all the plugs from the top. I'll hopefully know what the truth is sometime next week

It needs to be connected to work. If you take it off, your car goes back to totally stock. The JB1 is an piggyback style unit. This means that it intercepts the signals running between the engine and ECU and modifies them as required before sending them on their way. The ECU thinks it's talking directly to the engine, and the engine thinks it's being instructed by the ECU only.

The really attractive part of all this is that you can remove it and its very difficult to tell the car was ever tuned. Nothing is changed on the ECU, so no "naughty flags" are set for the dealer to screw you over with. The plan is to take mine off for each service.

Yep, that's what attracts me to this and I plan to do the same and remove it for each service.

Ok thanks so much for your reply. The RS goes well with the box? I suppose if I am careful with not so aggressive takeoff then I can enjoy the extra power oomph in the mid rev range. Interested to hear what map you using? I am thinking to configure the boost profile by reducing the rpms to limit the wheel slip (use the 500rpm increments). Does that make sense? You might see an old man driving a superb slowly at the lights and then all of a sudden take off! ha
