    JB1 Revision 1?

Hi, Can any tell me if the JB1 revision 1 modules are the same for the R and GTI models?

Ive been told the JB1 revision 2 and JB4 are the same but just wanted to confirm the JB1 revision 1 modules are interchangeable between the two cars also.

    Thanks, Stellio

Well if you look at it that way, that contradicts what I've been told.

It should be different, as the signal that it intercepts and changes would be different. Different turbos etc.

Perhaps the confusion between the JB1 rev 2 in terms of hardware to JB4 is that the rev 2 is jb4 ready.

Good to see a comparison of stock vs tuned at a few psi levels.
As for misting the intercooler, I built my own around 10 years ago for an R32 skyline and it worked ok, but I never had any way of measuring how effective it was.
Another option is to blend some E85 to help reduce temps, and start playing around with JB4 Map6. Golfmk7.com has a thread on JB4 tuning in the GTI section.

Low % mix. If you live on the southside of Brisbane, you can find E85 easy.
Try a small blend between 10-15% E85 and see how you like it. I assume you have the same (slightly smaller) tank than Golf R.
Add 6-7L of E85 and top off with 98 RON petrol.
Caltex sells E85 (btw 70-85% ethanol + >15% regular ULP) at some servos, around $1.10/L. United sells proper E85 (race blend, 85% ethanol + 15% 98 RON) around $1.40/L .
    Enjoy.
