Yeah I didn't realise, and the salesman was like 'guess what? You got an MY17'. Changes are very, very minor it seems.

It may be possible. They've been working on pushing the Torque app details to the larger screens in the US:
As for the excitement over detecting a piggyback, it's safe to say that if anything goes wrong then a quick scan of the logs would indicate the car operating outside OEM parameters when things went wrong and they will know something's up. Just depends on the dealer: gotta pay to play.

Yeah pretty funny. I'm sure MK7.5 will be more comprehensive a change...
My initial impressions of the car are bitter sweet. Sweet because it's a very nice place to be sitting in the driver's seat, and it does everything remarkably well. Goes hard, even though I haven't let it off the leash while breaking it in still...
Bitter because now I am a bit ruined. Everything else I get into to drive just seems a little bit slow, especially off the mark. Frustratingly slow actually... When the JB1 is installed, it will be a case of lying on the floor in the fetal position just thinking about accelerating (or rather, not accelerating) away in anything lesser...
Tongue firmly in cheek of course - very, very happy with how it goes. Grip is prodigious in all conditions (as one would expect). Not sure how fast one needs to be going to get any kind of breaking traction from the Conti's in corners, but I imagine the license will be at risk if I attempt to find out.
But, seriously, pretty much everything else does seem pitifully slow by comparison. Damn, going to have to save harder for that R8 now... LOL
Haven't really noticed any great benefit from the pollen filter - and it's Spring. Thought everyone might like to know that...
