You're asking several electrical components to do what a system of mechanical components used to do. Something may go wrong, due to a glitch.

As said, the best thing you can do is book it in with your dealer to have it rectified.

You're right with the last part - I'll take it to the dealer.

But with the first part...I didn't ask VW to put in an electronic brake system - I would much prefer a manual one! Then the glitch would only be me...
