Australian Mark 7.5 Golf Fuse box layout - need help?

    Hi All,

I am fitting a dashcam to my Mark 7.5 late 2017 Golf R and need help finding a which fuse's in the fuse box behind glove box to tap into.

So I need one that has constant 12V and the other for when the ignition is on, (I think fuse # 40 is the cig lighter one so that's ok) but I am not sure which fuse to use for the constant (always live)

Can anyone help which fuse to use - I will use a Add A Fuse thing's to do this..

There is a page in the Owner's Man (page 304) but based on that I am still not sure which ones to use....

    Thanks in advance

    Frosty

Get a multi meter and get into car and test spare fuse slots at the top of each as VW has a lot of unused ones with power to the top of them.

Mark one thats on with ign off. Thats your always on

Turn ign on and try some others When you find one turn ign off and

Otherwise try each one and turn ign off while holding meter on them. Find one that turns off and thats your ACC .If you dont get any like that try them and wait 30 mins as quite a few circuits are on timers.

Just put a fuse in the top position of your addafuse and it will be fine.

Have done several VWs so not hard if you use that method as it doesnt disturb any circuits. The Addafuse wont fall out, at least mine havent in last 8 years

    Hi frostywinter.

Google "Dash Cam Install Tutorial – Volkswagen MK7 Golf".
I used this to install a Garmin dash cam in my GTI.
The article has images of the fuse box and highlights the constant 12v location.

Hey which fuses did you end up using? I have a MY18 Golf R Grid and struggling to find an always on fuse. The layouts seem to be different that the tutorial vids I've seen for other Mk7 R's. At the moment Ive got it plugged in to third slot from the top left, but i think thats the car alarm as its only on when ive locked the car.

Just move it along then and look at the list in the manual and make sure you dont use an ABS or airbag fuse Is there any spare slots as they also have power on one side and will work an addafuse with just the top fuse in
