Thread: Are all mk7 golf diffuser interchangeable?

Are all mk7 golf diffuser interchangeable?

I have recently done some research on mk7 golf Diffusers (13 in total).

VW have made 13 different types of diffuser including side inserts (GTI model), all of which are interchangeable except 1...... the golf R.
VW would not tell me if the diffuser fit Tsi/GTD/GTI at all.

So my fellow Mk7 golfers does any of you know golf R diffuser part number: 5G6807568D9 "heckdiffus" (Yes, they have a personal name for it) will fit a non-R rear bar?

    No, it's a different shape.

If you want an R diffuser because you intend to have quad pipes then Remus do a GTI diffuser that takes their own quad pipe system; you could get another system made up to fit though, at the end of the day the tips are cosmetic.

I already have a custom turbo back exhaust with quad tips done, just considering my options as to which route I should go? 1 - subtle golf R look or 2 - a full on carbon fiber diffuser from Revozport. I'm currently running a gti rear diffuser with custom cut holes... which doesn't look as good.

I reckon the Remus diffuser has a more OEM look (FWIW it's manufactured by Rieger) although it still lacks the honeycomb finish of the GTI. The Revozport is a bit out there - it might not work so well unless you intend to do some other mods to tie the look in.

Be good if you could post up some pics either way of what you're running now - you'd possibly be the first non-R in Australia to be running quads?

I haven't seen anyone running quads in Australia yet but who knows - definitely a few overseas, plus quite a few running the Mk6 R style centre twin pipes.

It's a pity you can't mould plastic easily - would look fine if the VW cut-out could be matched on the right hand side!

You running orange wheels on that thing? Post up some pics in the wheel thread with details if you get time.

Wondering if you came across the part number for a diffuser that has a removable centre piece for a towbar.

I've learnt to look for wheels in every pic since starting the wheel thread.

Interesting look - planning any further orange highlights on the car at all?

Would be good if you took a couple of different angles and posted up in the wheel thread - always looking for new ideas.
