2016 Alltrack has its front LH door and RH door mixed up

Arrhhhh..... that's better - but some real strange stuff happening with your scan.

I assume that you have now posted the complete scan, but there is no passenger side door module in the report - it lives @ address hex52. So it should be listed between the Steering Assistance and Headlight Regulation modules - but it ain't there!!

Also, the driver control module is present in your scan but it has refused to report its equipment details - and it has told "porkies" by declaring "No trouble codes found"!

...........And there is clearly an untruth in the scan regarding the driver door module having no trouble codes (I tend to believe the colored dot). I suspect that the inability of the hex42 module to report its own equipment details has extended to it's inability to report the trouble codes that are registered within the module's memory.

I have made progress! What I ended up trying was removing the passenger door module and reconnecting the battery which let me speak to the driver side module easily every time. Following this small success, I put the passenger module into the driver door with the passenger door still empty. I was able to then access it, back it up and change the Right hand drive check box. After putting each door module into the correct door, I had functioning windows at each door and the mirror indicators worked as they should. However, the door switch kept giving me an intermittent open door flashing/driver door switch error and the driver door window control only controlled the driver side windows front and rear.

I ended up ordering a new passenger door module to replace my current one like for like (5Q4 959 592 E). I plugged it in and had the control module number 52 pop up in red (previously black). I changed a few settings with the screen shots I had taken before with it in the driver side door and success. Did a scan, cleared the errors, scanned again and here we are:

Central Electrics 09 Green
Gateway 19 Green
Driver door 42 Red (B200500 - Data Record Invalid)
Passenger door 52 Green

I am at a total loss with how my original passenger module decided to be a LHS considering I have never been able to log into it. I wish I had started with an OBD11 scan before I took it for dealership diagnosis.

Any idea how to clear this final code so I can have all green (apart from the Headlight Regulation 55 Red, needing to replace a cornering globe I think)?

I've highlighted Byte 02, Bit 0 which is currently set (as shown). This software switch tells the door module that the door-lock does NOT have a SAFELOCK motor. Australian cars have SAFELOCK - so try setting the switch status to zero (the value of Byte 02 should be 12 after the change is made).

Then clear the error and re-scan - does the fault re-appear?

If so, keep the change above and notice that Byte 06 , Bit 2 (highlighted) is set. The Bits in Byte 06 select different datasets for the window regulator motor. Try selecting a different dataset - I suggest change Bit 2 =0 and set Bit 1=1 (the value of Byte 06 should be 02 after the changes are made)

Then clear the error and re-scan - does the fault reappear?

PS: as to your question about the word limit - the better way to post scan data in these forums is to use what's called "CODE Tags". In HTML speak, Tag-commands are always bounded by square brackets and having opened a Tag-command, the tag is then closed by the operator "/" followed by the same Tag-command! Don't worry if this is confusing - hopefully this procedure will become clearer in the next paragraph.

So, to use CODE Tags, start by typing [CODE], then paste your data - then type [/CODE] . I've used this exact method for pasting the long-code data above - so that's the effect of the CODE Tags (notice the vertical & horizontal sliders that allow lots of embedded information within a post - nifty!!

PPS: regarding the errors in your hex55 module- I don't believe that this is a lamp-out problem. The error descriptor says that you have a Basic Setting fault which is a kind-of calibration issue. Look under Basic Settings in OBD11 software after you select the module.

Thanks Don.

The AFS lighting was an easy fix, you were right. A simple acknowledge basic setting.

I am still having the Driver Door "Data record invalid" B200500 error code pop up though. I tried playing with the Byte 6 Bits 0, 1 , and 2 changing the Variant from 5 to 3 and applying the 'front window regulator, driver side' basic setting to get rid of the missing basic setting but with no cigar after a rescan.

On the plus side, I have to admit the seat warmers on this cold day were quite nice.

@Mmmm1987: OK - well done on achieving much and learning lots (as is evident by your almost error-free scan)!!

I assume that you tried ALL the the available variants for the window regulator.

I was hoping that my suggested tweak to the long-code string on the hex42 module would work - because the other probable cause of the error can't be fixed with a third-party diagnostic device like VCDS, or OBD11.

B200500 - Data record invalid error can be caused by an incorrect value in the module firmware (so, not adaptation channel, or long-code related). Or, it can be the result of the wrong parameter-set in firmware, or it can result from the incorrect use of the guided function on dealer tool, ODIS, or incorrect use of a tool like VCP (that can change module firmware).

It's entirely your decision, but if the error isn't causing any practical problems - perhaps simply ignore it?

I can't see it from my house so I think I'll put it on the back burner. Who knows what has happened seeing as the control modules were both set to RHS. I wish I had forked out for the diagnostic tool before I took it to VW for diagnosis. Oh well.

Big shout out to you Don for helping me with this. Absolute legend. Hopefully if anybody else has issues with something similar, they can find this thread or tags with the search function and use it as a guide or a step in the right direction.
