We drive in Eco, that is even worse. I move to sports like you in such situation. I found putting into manual mode helped but I thought it is too harsh.
Hey all, not sure if this has been asked before, my quick search turned up nothing.
My 103 TSI wagon seems very reluctant to kick down when I try to slip into a gap in traffic in the next lane over that's moving a little faster. Often, I'll see a sizeable gab, indicate, apply additional throttle, but by the time any power kicks in, the trailing car in the gap is right up my arse. I believe this is more to do with the DSG not willing to shift down, rather than turbo lag.
I have tried applying more throttle, but this often ends in the same lag + aggressive kick down and rev up to the redline, which is overkill for any general traffic situation.
I'm now at a point where pulling the gear lever back to drop it in sports mode is standard in my lane change (in traffic) routine.
I'm wondering if other's have had similar experience and seeing what you are doing to get around it.
Car is driven in "Standard" mode.

Thanks MRG_AU. Glad it's not just me. Given how bad it is in Standard, I can't even imagine what it'd be like in ECO!
I'm keen to hear others thoughts as well and seeing if you have any "tips"

Thanks for that Sharkie, but I don't think they actually have anything for the 103TSI?
Their stuff covers all engines with capacity of 1.2 litres.
1.4 litres with 90kw or 118 - 136kw output. Nothing about 103.
The other mod covers diesel.
