Boasting many cosmetic changes, the recently released 2012 VW Golf GTI Edition 35's real charm lies in its more powerful, Golf R sourced engine. Two hundred of this variant will be offered in the Australian market and, as elsewhere, it will be suitably detuned so as not match the range-topping R. In stock form, the front wheel drive Edition 35 is allowed 173kw where the R sports 188kw.
However, BSR have developed a tune for the Edition 35, offering a peak power increase to 308Hp... That is 230kw and 395Nm of Golf R stomping power! Of course, with same engine, BSR's upgrade for the Golf R awards it the same - 230kw and 395Nm... FWD vs 4WD track day contest anyone?
