Thumbs up VW Golf R Detail + Protection

As many of you know we still offer Paint Protection and Detailing (inc. Paint Correction) Services here at Car Care Products.

This lovely Brand New Black VW Golf R was brought into us by Gary for the full Nanolex Protection (paint, wheels, glass, interior!).

As you can see, when this car was checked under our Daylight Bay we unfortunately noticed a lot more imperfections in the paintwork than expected from both
us and also Gary the owner! Considering that this car is 'new' with under 100kms on the clock when it arrived to us. Gary had asked us to correct the entire
paintwork to his perfectionist level and then apply the Nanolex Sealant thereafter.

Below you can clearly see quite heavy marks, water spotting, light scratches and spider webbing throughout majority of the car. These are caused by the usual dealer
washing methods and more so the typical morning @ a dealership where they "rinse & chamois dry" to which drags dirt/dust along the surface of paintwork
causing the spider webbing and marring as you can imagine!

In some photos you can see the metallic flake causing a rainbow effect through some of the scratches hiding away the colour of the paint which should be a metallic Black (pearl as such).

These commonly scratch up very easily, we do recommend a clear film over these if you find this is happening to you regularly.

Testing the Paint to ensure no damage or respray has happened (you would be surprised how many new vehicles this is common to) as per Gary's request - Found to be 100% and normal readings.[/b]

We first started with the Snow foam Lance and Magifoam with APC combined together to strip any product that may of been used by the dealer for delivery of the Golf R.

Allowed this to dwell for about 8-10 minutes before it was high pressure rinsed off.

Next out came the Wolfs Chemicals Decon Gel and applied to the entire paintwork and wheels to pull of any carbon contaminants that may of adhered onto the paint during the transport/delivery time. Although lucky very little if anything appeared to bleed over the paintwork, however of course the wheels did due to being driven to us at Five Dock.

Once again another full rinse down and out came the Dodo Juice Clay Bar and the whole cars surface including glass received clay barring, and a separate clay bar for the wheels so we do not cross contaminate anything.

Another full thorough rinse and dry off with a MF waffle weave and also air blower to get rid of any excess water between any crevices and rubbers seals before we Tape her up for the machine correction. (The reason we do this is to avoid any polish whitening on the plastics/rubbers and any chances of any damages to the rubbers, and also around badges to avoid the buffing pads from catching and tearing)

As Gary asked us to also do the fascia and inside of the wheels, we removed the wheels carefully by hand and again gave the wheels another thorough clean to apply Nanolex to the inner and outter of the rim itself for ultimate protection.

The correction process was a lengthy one at that. Due to the hard/strong paint from the Volkswagen we had to go straight a wool pad and Menzerna FG500 to get those heavier marks out from the paintwork, stepping down
to an Orange Festool Pad and FG500, White Festool Pad on PF2500 and SF4000 on a Black Festool Pad.

Result was this, almost ready to go!

2 Days of correction which shows you that unfortunately being a new car or not, it is always best to check prior to have any protection put onto your car to ensure your car is looking 110% as the Sealant (protection) will
make any of those marks more vibrant and visible than before once protected.

A final prewash with apc to remove all polishing oils from Menzerna to ensure we get a clean oil free surface for the Nanolex application and it was almost done!

Nanolex Professional was applied to all the painted surfaces, including the wheels which as mentioned were removed to do inside and out, Nanolex Glass applied to all the glass surfaces and Leather & Textile Sealant to
    the interior trim.

We were incredibly happy with the result, and more so how evident the metallic was popping out in the sun! Hopefully Gary was as happy as we are with the car!

Any questions or comments are always welcome!

Fantastic job guys. You should CC this to the VW dealers and offer them some of your products and training on how to wash properly

I'm not sure if I could even bring myself to drive that now, although I guess that's what the nanolex is for.
