When youre driving it off the lot steal an antenna from a mk5 and see if it screws on fine

yep we fitted one to a tig here in melb the other day. It sounds like its going to be a common problem. The cars are pretty high off the ground!

They are quite a long antenna considering the height off the ground yes.
