Have to say there will be a lot of turbos out there with wastegate cracks and housing cracks, not really that uncommon and they go un noticed pretty much, only when it shows up when boosting then the issue starts and in your case it was probably more of a rasp than a rattle??? seen lots of cracked turbos that produce perfect boost, it gets pretty hot in there. Wastegate seats crack often but seal ok when the gate is closed. Others crack bad if the EGTs are through the roof and like i mentioned earlier check the oil pipes

it was arattle , i dont think it was even spinning !
with the new one i can here it all the time when around 2000rpm , do they need to be run in ?
Again lack of lube, rattle would have been the shaft and bearing, crap boost at the same time, the exhaust cracks would have been there prior i think.
Run in, well a tomato sauce bottle used as a squirter i use and i prime the turbo before start up and let it idle for a fair bit, then its game on mate pretty much

had the turbo for three days f### !
what happen i was driving down the back street and it seened to wind off the turbo making a winding noise ? , i got back home around the corner and come to an idle and it was rough idling ?
turne the car off then started a bit later 20 min , and there was a tappet noise as well ?
it went away but know power now , hmmm this cost me $$
Hmm you would have had a few pipes off doing the turb. Check that there is no pressure hose off or intercooler pipe off, this would drop your power and car would run crap, the tappet noise i think is something else. Could be a few things that. Ok how does it idle now?????? to check the turbo boost control a quick check is pull off the actuator line and try the car for a very short spell, i say this as it will keep the wastegate shut and overboost. This way you would know the turbo is ok at least, then work back from there, also give it a scan, broken wire at N75 is VERY common and can go un noticed, no boost again. So yeah work Turbo back mate. If its still crap with the actuator line off then you dont have to waste any time checking control.
