    Replace the tyre..
Struts can take a lot of hard knocks and make a frightening noise when they bottom out.

Take lots of pix and send in a bill.
You never know your luck. Nothing to loose.
Write into the letter re it could cause a fatal accident etc
Tell them how your car veered onto the wrong side of the road when it hit it (if it did)
Send a copy to local paper as well.
    Keep it to the point.

Cheers for the advice. I sent an email already regarding the damage. Heap of pics and info. I reported the incident immediately so I think that will help. I'll send the bill to them as soon as i get the car fixed and wait and see what they say.
My struts were in a bad way to begin with. The hit just made things worse. They are currently leaking so I think it's time to replace anyway.

Got a reply for main roads. Basically not worth claiming. Had the wheel off, and cleaned everything up maybe it's not so bad...plus they weren't going to pay for coilovers anyway, the most I would have got would have been one tyre.

New set of Bridgestone adrenaline RE002's put on. got a really good price if anyone is chasing them in Brisbane. They feel good way more forgiving and direct than the old tyres, but the oldies were **** anyway.

Wish I didn't know the coilovers were on their way. the waiting sucks

    Some inspiration while I wait.

Anyone know where I can get my wheels painted by the way...found one powder coater in beenleigh but was looking at less than $600 which is what he wants.

Did you take the tyres off first gavin? Or just spray and peel the excess later. I plasti-dipped my front grill but not sure I should go nuts on the wheels. Maybe next Sunday's job

My father-in-law showed me the spare wheel on his car - looked perfect. He said he'd painted it with a brush, I couldn't see a single brush stroke.

Trouble is he's in his 70's and a master craftsman and wouldn't tell me his secret how he does it.

I just masked up the tyres, stuck the masking tape between the rim and tyre. It's not that smart close up. The spare wheel which I did first came out best. The others I rushed.

Top tip, I just sprayed the inside of the wheel with ordinary matt black rather than waste a $20 can of plastidip.

Still waiting on my package from Germany... DHL says it's in the hands of aus-post now so hopefully before the week is out as I want them for happy laps this weekend.

In the mean time got to plastidipping my wheels was good fun and looks pretty good unless you're right up close.
not sure how durable it's going to be though especially at the garage when the guys are doing the suspension.

Also got to perv on this the other day out at Graceville. Very nice and had an oettenger badge on the back

So after happy laps I realised my handling is way off where it should be. Really vague. And I was blowing a bit of smoke so I'll have to see to that.
Got in contact with jimmy. (Jmac alba European) after a good tip off here. And he's booked me in for next week.
I'm really confident he'll be able to sort out the car. Plus it's always good to meet another weegiee.

First thing with handling is to get an 4 wheel alignment set to S3 specs.
These cars are sensitive to toe settings. Get them set to minimum.
