Ran another scan and got a weird code for cam retard setpoint not reached (16395 P0011)
I'm guessing this might be related to a loss of oil press.
Dropped the oil tonight and it doesn't look too bad considering 3 years installed. No silver sparkly bits.
Started on the sump removal, but need to get the extra long hex head driver for the two bolts inside the bell housing.
Hopefully I can get that sorted tomorrow night.

Thanks Gavin.
I'm going to try a 150mm ball end Allen first. If that fails I'll go buy a 1/4 drive wobble ext. I wasn't sure if the 10mm socket would fit though the holes in the bell housing either.
I figured the cam code was related to oil Px loss, but thanks for confirming it. At least I know I'm on the right track.

So kinda successful night.
A mate came over to help so I had company.
We got the sump off and it was dirty, but the bottom end looked good.
There were no shavings, sparkly bits, or metal discolouration. All the big ends are still tight with bigger all play. The main journals all look good as well, so without actually pulling bearings out, it looks perfectly normal.
We pulled the oil pump and the pickup was hideous!!!
This is what we found
After a good washing out and back flush, we decided to move on and pulled the pump apart.
The pump looks new. There are no marks, wear, scoring or pitting. It almost looks like new.
So after a good clean up we decided to put it all back together.
The sump is temp fitted and I have to work tomorrow night, so fingers crossed it will be going again on Saturday.
Stay tuned!
