    Gordie's S3 build

Hi all, thought ill get a thread going of my S3 progress.

After looking for 4 months, I found a decent 01' S3 with only 111,000km on the clock!

Badger5 80mm TIP - made a great improvement in respond and gave it a nice sound!

    I then invested in a 3" downpipe with a 200cell highflow cat

Then got Gavin from Custom Code to give it a stage II flash.

My clutch start to slip after the tune, so I ordered a Clutch Masters 725 series (street) to suit my future applications.

Got a cheap set of TA Technix coilovers and some Porsche wheels to give it a nice meaty look..

The headlight started to fog up from the inside because it didn't have the inner cover, so I pulled them apart and gave them a nice polish. Sourced out a new pair of new covers too so it doesn't happen again! Did some cosmetic changes to it as well.

Engine bay tidy up time! I ordered a few goodies from Integrated engineering a few weeks ago, ( fittings, catch can, billet accessorizes)

Proflow fittings as well as braided hoses to catch can.

    IE TFSI coilpack adaptors

Painted up the inlet manifold in black and rocket cover in wrinkle red

So box came out, then the transfer case...and then the std clutch and flywheel, so shocked at how heavy the double mass flywheel is!

So out went the crappy annoying TA technix coilovers which have leaked out oil, and physically bent...and in went the KW V3's with silver project camber tops. Such a change in a ride quality, very please with them...nice firm ride. Still have to learn how the damper/rebound works and what effects they have on the car though.

Fitted slotted and drilled discs rotas, EBC red stuff pads, braided lines all around and ATE racing blue dot4 fluid.
Also, got around getting some OZ saturn wheels for $250 of Jarred, then got around getting some Kumho KU36 semi slick for it, just in time for my first track day!

Had a few issues blew open the silicone turbo outlet pipe, which is a worry...I thought they good against heat? Lucky a friend of mine drove his s3 on the day, and used the his OEM so I could keep going throughout the day.

Popped a bottom intercooler hose off as well during a session, easy fix!

At the end of the day I noticed a lot of oil pissing out of the catch can, is this normal? I lost quite abit of oil due to this. High oil pressure in the head?

Watch those catch can braided hoses, they'll cut through anything like butter.

    Looks outstanding Gordie!!

Not sure why the catch can would fill up so quick but don't forget usually any oil that condenses out of the breather system would make it's way back to the sump.

You would have been driving it much harder than normal and there would be some build up of pressure in the crank case.

    Looks awesome mate!

I noticed the other day my headlights are starting to fog up too. Do you have a link for the inner covers?
