Big up the 4.2 TDI Q7

Well I finally had my butt handed to me in the traffic light derby today...by a flippin 4x4. Made the mistake of having a go with a bigger TDI, and, well, I got whipped. Does the Q7 have DSG or something for the launch was just superb, a car length straight up, was even from there on, but no way I was going to reigh that beasty back in.

I don't condone street racing, but "having a go" up to normal speeds, well I won't lie, I'm in. I was quite impressed, and gave the guy the thumbs up.

Now to shoehorn the 4.2 into the Golf....

Our accountant has one and it's nuts!

Why not fit the 3.0 TDI from the A4 in there? Would be much easier and smaller than an R32 motor I imagine.

Go 4MOTION while your at it.

Why do those bloody kiwis get 4MOTION MK5 TDI Golfs and we dont!?!?!?!!!!1!11eleven

Yeah, I would order 4Motion TDI Golf right away.
I think if enough people would be asking and wanting 4Motion TDI Golf they would be available in OZ.

Great, even more mechanical loss for off boost lag. Be great once you were going, but can you imagine it in manual???

If that's how the GT TDI DSG can launch then I'm in a spot of trouble there...

admittedly I didn't go for an all out launch, as we did drag past a cop station...but still, quite the pace for a land barge!

I drag for fun man, not to prove anything. I'm always smiling win or lose!

I know you did it for fun mate. By sportsmanship I meant, that there was no agro there.
The AWD will always take off faster than FWD, especially the one with double the torque and it doesn't matter that it weights 1000kg more. Just checked the specs 0-100 in 6.4s that's impressive.

Hahaha, there's another tick for the petrol GTI

You high compression blokes just don't get it

But I admit I do lust after an R50 - that'd give the Q7 copycat the bird

Dad's had a three litre diesel Q7 for a few years now and while it's not fast, it's not all that slow either - rolling acceleration is seriously good.

I've been lucky enough to drive the 4.2 TT V8 diesel in Q7 and A8 forms and it's a monster. Not quite R36 quick, but man - for such a big car they definitely have a lot of guts behind them!
